Dr Andy Ward is Division Leader for the CLF Lasers for Science Facility (LSF) that is based in the Research Complex at Harwell (RCaH). He is responsible for the development and operations of the CLF’s laser imaging, ultrafast spectroscopy and ultrafast extreme ultraviolet science facilities.
Andy obtained his PhD at the University of Bristol studying polymer chemistry and dynamic light scattering. He joined the CLF in 2000 and has worked to apply laser microscopy techniques to scientific fields including colloid science, aerosol physics and the life sciences.
Andy has authored and co-authored over 90 peer-reviewed publications and retains an active interest in science. He is keen to encourage the exploration of science that sits between the Ultra, Artemis and Octopus facilities.
