Stephen Dann
Senior Software Engineer (Data Management)
After completing his DPhil in Physics at Oxford University, Stephen worked briefly as a post-doc before moving to the CLF. There, he spent a few years balancing lab work with research into Bayesian optimisation and development of data acquisition software. Those days are gone, and now he leads a team developing software to run experiments and look after the data they produce. When he’s not tackling the modern software development process, Stephen enjoys board games, hand tool woodworking, and nostalgia about when he got to do real lab work.
Research Interests: Bayesian optimisation of laser wakefield accelerators
