Laura Arcidiacono
Scientific Software Engineer
Laura has a background in Applied Physics with a focus in soft condensed matter and crystallography. She spent the firsts years of her career as a Research Fellow developing a new neutron technique for the investigation of archaeological samples at ISIS Neutron and Muon Source. After a few years, she moved into instrumentation controls and automation at Diamond Light Source. She joined the CLF in 2024 in the cryo-CLEM team, where she develops routines for instrumentation controls, automation and data analysis.
Laura’s research interests span across different fields from crystallography to biology. Her current interest is in Correlative Light and Electron Microscopy at cryogenic temperatures. She is working toward the deployment of a new instrumentation control interface for a custom-built cryo-fluorescence microscope and is contributing toward the implementation of data analysis routines for the cryo-fluorescence data.
