James Thompson
Senior Experimental Scientist
James received an MSci in Chemistry at the University of Nottingham, UK, in 2011. He was then awarded a PhD at Heriot Watt University, UK, in 2015, following which he had posts as a postdoctoral research associate at the University of Edinburgh in 2015, the University of Missouri from 2015 to 2018, and the University of Nottingham from 2019 to 2022.
In 2022, James was a Beamline Scientist at the Diamond Light Source, before joining the Artemis facility at the CLF in 2023 as a Senior Experimental Scientist for the AMO science programme.
