Claire previously spent 16 years at the Diamond Light Source, initially as an instrument scientist supporting user experiments, then moving to the Industrial Liaison group, progressing to Deputy Head of Industrial Liaison. Her role balanced managing the marketing activities for Diamond’s professional services with business development and delivery of technical services in her area of specialism, small angle X-ray scattering.
A physical chemist by training, with a PhD from the University of Bristol, UK, and a post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, USA, Claire is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC). Claire was previously Treasurer for the Society of the Chemical Industry’s (SCI) Colloid and Surface Chemistry group and a committee member for the joint Colloids group of the RSC and the SCI.
Research Interests: Industry partnerships, marketing of professional technical services, and commercialisation of innovative ideas.
