Her main research interests include probing the characteristics of novel and established fluorophores across a range of techniques and environments, such as within mammalian cells and at cryogenic temperatures. She is exploring the development of combined Phosphorescence and Fluorescence Lifetime Imaging Microscopy (PLIM-FLIM) and its application to a range of dyes and probes. She is exploring the implementation of these probes to single molecule systems such as STORM. Continuing from her PhD, she is interested in the characterisation of Fluorescent Nucleobase Analogues (FBAs) for applications in RNA and DNA protein interactions.
