Meetings with user community provide useful feedback for EPAC and Vulcan 20-20

The Central Laser Facility recently hosted a user consultation, bringing together 35 external representatives from UK universities and key industrial partners to discuss the development of the Extreme Photonics Applications Centre (EPAC) and Vulcan 20-20.

Attendees had the opportunity to visit both facilities and took part in focused discussions with the CLF teams.

For Vulcan 20-20, this was the second user consultation event, with discussions focusing on beam geometries and large interaction chamber concepts for both experimental areas.

For EPAC, discussions focused on plans for external participation in commissioning experiments, scheduled for 2027.

The feedback received from these consultation is important for the CLF to ensure both facilities meet the community needs, to maximise scientific output.
