Lee Benson

Scientific Software Engineer

Lee’s academic background is in mathematics and statistical analysis. He got his PhD in 2021 from the University of Stirling on the mathematical epidemiology of waterborne infectious disease.

Following his PhD, he worked as a postdoc on the National Core Study PROTECT programme for the Department of Civil Engineering, University of Leeds, quantifying risks of airborne respiratory disease transmission in indoor public spaces. He then worked for Biomathematics & Statistics Scotland modelling the efficacy of targeted treatment regimes in the control of nematode infection of ruminants. This was followed by a stint at Imperial College in the Department of Aeronautics working on FAIR data management as part of an AI for Net Zero project.
