Matthew Tang

PhD Scientist

Matthew joined the CLF in 2022 as a PhD student undertaking a joint project between the CLF, University of Oxford, and the Rosalind Franklin Institute. Under the supervision of Professor Lin Wang, Matthew works on super-resolution imaging of mammalian cells using stochastic optical reconstruction microscopy.

His main research interests are focused on developing and applying novel methods to address several key challenges in stochastic optical reconstruction microscopy (STORM). To this end, his research involves implementing a diverse set of methods that aim to enhance resolution, mitigate drift, improve fluorescent labelling workflows, and improve signal-to-noise ratio through denoising software. Through these methods, he hopes to enhance the performance of STORM and broaden its utility.
