Oliver Smith
Graduate laser scientist
Oliver graduated with an MChem in Chemistry from the University of York in 2024. He specialised during his master’s year in the study of DNA hairpins with ultra-fast 2DIR spectroscopy. He joined Artemis in September 2024, where he works on the DynAMO extreme ultraviolet beamline and end station to facilitate gas phase ultra-fast spectroscopy experiments.
Oliver is developing a laser-based desorption set up for delivery of non-volatile samples on the DynAMO end station. He is also involved in the construction of Artemis’ XTAS end station.
