Events

The CLF organises scientific meetings that gather together the different communities. These meetings are aimed at all facility users and provide a good opportunity for sharing of knowledge in science and technology areas.

The LSF User Meeting

The Laser for Science Facility (LSF) User Meeting is typically held every 18 months. It is also very well attended, with over 100 attendees. The meeting is three-days long, typically held in Oxford, with talks and posters from a range of users covering the full range of science across the Octopus, Ultra and Artemis facilities.

The HPL Christmas Meeting

The High Power Laser (HPL) Christmas Meeting has been held annually for over 30 years. It has become a strong tradition within the academic community, and was even held remotely during the COVID-19 pandemic. This three-day meeting typically has over 150 attendees, with talks and poster sessions. PhD students are encouraged to present their work at the meeting, and there are around 50 scheduled oral presentations mostly from external attendees.
